Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients’ dental health and get an overview of their oral health history
  • Talk to patients and make sure they feel comfortable and taken care of before, during, and after the examination
  • Make impressions of patient's teeth to ensure their mouthguards, dentures, etc. are made correctly
  • Record any changes to the patient’s health history and document the ongoings of each appointment
  • Advise patients on how to properly care for their teeth after a procedure or operation
  • Take digital scans of patients’ teeth so veneers, mouthguards, etc. can be made correctly
  • Advise patients on how to properly care for their teeth after a procedure or operation
  • Take x-ray images of the patients’ teeth to help dentists identify any oral health issues like cavities
  • Inform patients of all ages about how to care for their teeth by brushing and flossing on a regular basis
  • Clean dental instruments to ensure everything is sterilized properly

Qualifications:

  • Will consider both new graduates and experienced hygienists.
  • An accredited Dental hygiene degree is required.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
  • Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding dental and healthcare.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to keep detailed records.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, tools, and diagnostics.
  • Good Management Skills.
  • Able to foster team development at all levels.
  • Able to communicate accurately and efficiently with patients, staff, other dentists, and referral partners.
  • Can plan, organize, and prioritize time, and work efficiently and effectively, ensuring all patient care requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Current CPR certification
  • Bachelor’s degree or master's degree in registered dental hygiene program preferred, associate’s degree required
  • Superb customer service and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of dental safety regulations and HIPAA regulations
  • Possesses a state license to practice dental hygiene
